Nescafe “Reserve”

Nescafé’s customers search for something special in their coffee, something that makes them feel unique. Nescafé Reserva offers just that, through a distinctive hand-harvesting process that sets it apart from the competition. This film, created by Marcel Mexico and produced by Lobo, aims to translate into pictures that same care and meticulousness the makers of Nescafé Reserva dedicate to picking the choicest coffee beans. To this end, the technique chosen was truly handmade: stop motion animation, with all visual elements hand-crafted using felt, yarn, and fabric.
The films opens with a live action scene of a woman trying a delicious cup of Nescafé Reserva, before the camera plunges into the bottle label and takes the viewer on a flight through the mountains of Chiapas and Veracruz, portrayed as a rich world of impressive depth and color. There we see the local community of growers filling their baskets with hand-picked coffee beans, in a magical, almost childlike atmosphere, before we return to the modern kitchen setting for the packshot.
